Today I work until 5. Then I dash home, Andy & I go vote (I am still voting for Dean, and in the Senatorial primary for Obama), then dinner, then BEST BUY. Why am I going to Best Buy? When I bought my new computer several months ago, I also signed up for their “rewards” program, wherein you buy things and accumulate points which eventually translate into certificates to buy other things with, etc. Well, said certificates finally arrived … $50 worth. (Buying a big thing like a computer gives you a lot of ’em). The timing is IMPECCABLE (for once), because TODAY is the DAY of the NEW DAVID BYRNE ALBUM.

Happy happy, joy joy.

So I’ll pick that up. Browse their DVD selection as well (which is usually pathetic). And also, I’ve been hearing some good things lately about this band called Franz Ferdinand. Supposedly they’re Talking Headsesque. Haven’t actually heard their stuff, but if Best Buy actually has it then perhaps I’ll take a chance.

Yesterday I got a double-CD of mixes from alexandrwolf and I’m looking forward to exploring that. It contains a remix of the 1980 McCartney cult classic “Temporary Secretary,” which was some kind of a weird fetish between my friend Scot and I during high school. How wonderfully random is that! We used to sort of willingly torture ourselves by listening to it over and over.

Andy is suffering from a congestive cold. And wouldn’t ya know, I’ve been sneezing this morning. But I got some good sleep last night. Thanks to everyone who wished me well. I made some damn good chili last night for Andy and I, and that hit the spot. No Krispy Kremes yesterday, alas, but there’s always manana …
