“Broken Flowers” is the best new film I’ve seen all year, and if there’s poetic justice then Bill Murray will win Best Actor in February.

There are some days where the best thing you can think of is sleep.

Last night Steven drove us out to MacArthur’s on the west side for some soul food, and I had meatloaf, collard greens, macaroni and cheese, cornbread, chocolate cake, and lemonade; whoa.

At the insistence of the company insuring the film of “The Prairie Home Companion,” Paul Thomas Anderson was on the set at all times just in case something happened to 80-year old director Robert Altman.

On August 12th I’m going to visit my friend Dule in East Lansing for the weekend.
