Comcast vs. RCN vs. Nothing

Currently Andy & I have EarthLink DSL, SBC for local phone, and Working Assets for long distance. We do not have cable.

Lately EarthLink DSL has sucked. Well, it’s always KIND of sucked but lately it’s REALLY been sucking. Fading in and out in the evenings, and we can’t get any sort of a straight answer from tech support. It’s been enough to start us thinking (again) about what if …

We switch over to a package deal? Right now, if you combine all the above services we currently have, we’re paying around $130/month. Comcast has a package deal for all three at $99 (plus hidden charges) and RCN for $90 (plus hidden charges). Basic cable would be a nice bonus, but the speed/reliability (theorhetically) of cable internet is what’s really tempting.

Is it worth it? Or will we just get screwed no matter what we decide to do? I know you people out there have some advice to share.
