Last night on PBS we randomly caught a new documentary on the Jonestown massacre. Extremely disturbing. I woke up thinking about it this morning. I was only four years old when it happened, so needless to say I don’t remember it. The film is chilling. Those were the 70’s. It must have felt at times that the world would fall apart. It doesn’t feel like that anymore. Because , as we all know, the world has already fallen apart. We live in a compartmentalized society, right on down to our own minds. The chaos, the fear, the toxic messes of our own creation … we keep those in little boxes so that we can continue to function.
