Our new tele-drug is WTTW-D, the all-digital HD channel from PBS station WTTW. Last night at 10 we tuned in and watched a show about the “beach wars” in California: the battles between the rich bastards who own beachfront property and think that the beach is their own private backyard and public advocacy groups trying to ensure that the beaches have public access. I’d read about this before (in some book by Mike Davis?) and naturally my first thought was: yup, another reason why I hate L.A. Then I thought: Chicago isn’t like that. Then I thought: wow, it’s really time to go to bed.
Andy and I are meeting up with
this evening for dinner at Las Pinatas. Swoon. Enchiladas Nortenas, I’m imagining you aleady … margaritas, mmm …
