3 things about David Lynch’s TWIN PEAKS: FIRE WALK WITH ME

Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me [1992]

1. Towards the end of the movie the monkey whispers, “Judy.” Earlier, David Bowie’s character says, “We’re going to leave Judy out of this. In fact we’re not going to talk about Judy at all.”
2. That extreme closeup of Ray Wise: smiling malevolence melting into stunned blankness melting into profound sorrow. Always floors me.
3. Creamed corn as visual symbol for garmonbozia (pain and suffering).
