1. Beulah Bondi stands at the stove fixing breakfast, nearly still asleep but already bitter. She reaches up for a dishtowel.
2. Pa Bridges leans forward, a hand on either banister post. He looks like he’ll fall down during his speechmaking but he doesn’t.
3. Robert Mitchum suddenly has a look of fear in his eyes and he buries his face in his forearm, crying.
