Possessed [1947]

1. David slumped over the bar. He finishes a drink just as the bartender sets down a fresh drink. He immediately picks up the fresh drink and takes a slug.
2. Joan stands at the counter of the cafe. Her hair is flat. She looks sunburned, dazed. The counterman puts a cup of coffee in front of her but she doesn’t seem to notice. She stares vacantly into the distance. She can’t seem to speak.
3. Carol’s body slides down the length of the staircase, resting at the bottom. Joan stares in horror as the body suddenly dissolves into thin air. Then the real Carol enters through the front door, damp from the rain, wearing a white fur. Joan realizes for the first time that she has just witnessed a hallucination.
