Laura [1944]
1. New insight: McPherson knows exactly who the murderer is from the very beginning. For him, the film is just methodically going through the procedurals (except for the falling in love part). It’s everyone else in the film who are confused.
2. Laura prepares to make coffee in the kitchen. She puts a very full pot on the stove. That’s a lot of coffee for only two people.
3. McPherson: “I must say, for a charming, intelligent girl, you certainly surrounded yourself with a remarkable collection of dopes”
