1. “The more scribbled the name, the larger the fame!”
2. He’s just freed himself and advances on her. The look on Masha’s face: lustful anticipation, he’s about to ravish me. He smacks her, hard, and runs out of the room.
3. Night. Jerry pauses in front of a store window filled with televisions, all showing Rupert delivering his monologue. The realization that he has been defeated.
