Strange Interlude

I just saw it. Only one more performance left! Tomorrow (Sunday). See it! You’ll never get another chance. Some of it:

  • A character played entirely by a Cabbage Patch Kid
  • One of the play’s nine acts consists almost entirely of Eugene O’Neill’s absurd, contradictory yet effective stage directions
  • Dean Evans mugs beautifully in turns as both a mother in a fright wig and an old Scandinavian maid
  • Sex scenes involving a Cabbage Patch Kid
  • Brilliant dissection/analysis highlighting the work’s meticulous artificiality and the naturalism which somehow emerges anyway
  • Very funny subtext made text
  • Freud and Jung on steroids
  • Hilarious surprise in the seventh act involving Harry Carray
  • If someone’s cell phone goes off, there’s a gag
  • Special treatment of hecklers

See it!
