3 things about Charlie Chaplin’s THE CIRCUS

The Circus [1928]

1. One of the clowns wears a miniature washtub as a hat.
2. William Tell routine. He wriggles his index finger; there’s a worm in the apple. He tosses it aside, unpeels a banana, puts it on his head.
3. On the tightrope, he tries to keep his balance while the monkeys swarm all over him. One of them sticks its hand in his mouth.
