3 things about Jacques Tourneur’s I WALKED WITH A ZOMBIE

I Walked with a Zombie [1943]

1. The space is totally dark. Except for the staircase, glowing in the moonlight.
2. The wooden figurehead of the old slave ship is now part of the fountain. St. Sebastian, still pierced with several arrows. Wes yanks one of them out and follows Mrs. Holland down to the seashore.
3. A motionless body stands stock still in the middle of the sugarcane field. Dead eyes.
