3 things about Michael Haneke’s CODE UNKNOWN

Code Unknown [2000]

1. Still chewing his last bite, he washes his plate at the sink. He goes into the bathroom and flushes the toilet to cover up the sound of his crying.
2. An adaptation of The Collector starring Juliette Binoche? Yes, please.
3. The code for the door doesn’t work. He stands in the rain for a moment, then decides to catch a cab.

More enigmatic and open-ended than most of Haneke’s other movies up to this point. Andy says the climax is the scene on the Metro train. Binoche brings a lot of warmth to the story. You can watch her iron clothes for five minutes and she’s still interesting.
