1. Plants growing out of old yogurt containers, sundry vessels, an electric teakettle.
2. She stands up, moves next to her. Neither one says a word. Then she reaches out to her, borrows her cigarette, and takes a drag.
3. The sign over the store, the bus stop sign, the graffiti on the wall: at once the whole landscape is alive to her.
