3 things about Ronald Neame’s THE HORSE’S MOUTH

The Horse’s Mouth [1958]

1. “You’re missing a big slice of life, Cokey. Half a minute of revelation’s worth a million years of know-nothing.”
“Who lives a million years?”
“A million people, every twelve months.”
2. As he stands up, he gives a little tug on the bottom of her skirt.
3. Two streaks of blue paint on his cheeks.

Why isn’t this film better known? It’s not only very funny, it’s also one of the best films I’ve ever seen about being an artist.
