The Cobweb [1955]

1. The left side of the frame, in the room beyond: her bed. The right side of the frame: he calls the clinic. “I can be reached at this number.” She moves into the shot. He hangs up, moves to the doorway on the left where she’s standing. They kiss. Dissolve.
2. He asks, “What should I do?”
She looks at him. “Who do you think I am?” She leaves him, gets into her car.
3. “You ever try to drown yourself? It’s the silliest thing.”

I recognized the sketches of David Stone Martin in the movie right away. He drew several album covers for Norman Granz.
