Imagine an activity that combines all the uncertainty of online dating with the tension of a high-stakes poker game. Now imagine doing that continuously for at least six months, and you might get an inkling of what the film festival submission process is like. There’s a reason you don’t hear a whole lot of filmmakers publicly disclosing which festivals they’re submitting their film to. As in dating, you can expect to get turned down early and often, and no one wants to risk a public rejection; and as in poker, it’s advisable to play your cards close to the vest as long as possible.
So, suffice it to say that I have begun sending Pause of the Clock to festivals. And I can’t wait to share some good news with you (whenever that might be!)
