To be perfectly honest, I can’t remember the occasion that led to the creation of this cocktail. But I found the recipe in my notes, and rather than lose it forever I’m posting it here. It sounds delicious anyway …
EL SON TE LLAMA
2 oz. silver tequila
.25 Del Maguey Vida mezcal
1 oz. fresh lime juice
.5 oz. black elderberry syrup
6 oz. Reed’s Extra Ginger Brew
disc of candied ginger
Fill a highball glass with cracked ice. Combine tequila, mezcal, lime juice, and black elderberry syrup in an iced cocktail shaker. Shake vigorously and strain into the glass, then add Reed’s and stir gently. Cut a notch in the candied ginger and perch on the edge of the glass.
