Quite simply, there is not a better set of music to play while dreamily sipping cocktails in front of your Christmas tree. If you play it softly there’s no doubt that Jackie’s caressing sounds will lull you into holiday reveries. But interestingly, this is also a great album to play loud if you want to put your hi-fi through its places, beautifully arranged and crisply recorded. To finally have all 25 of Gleason’s Christmas recordings in one package just might be the best musical gift of the season.
