Every single person here at work today is annoying the hell out of me. Every. Single. Person. I don’t think I’ve ever heard so many asinine questions and meaningless statements.
Please send 4 o’clock to me early before I bitch-slap someone.

Andy and I decided that we’re just going to roast a turkey breast this year instead of doing awhole bird. An entire bird is just too much. We’re still going to make all our favorite sides: mashed potatoes, dressing, gravy (which i can make from scratch ’cause I’ve been practicing!), glazed carrots. Maybe more. And of course dutch apple pie for dessert. I think I’ll get some Coppola pinot noir to have with dinner.
Gluttony: yesterday we went to Tower Records (in the process of liquidation) and went wild. A lot of Christmas shopping has been accomplished. And a whole lot of goodies for myself. I think I’ll go back once more in a few weeks, just before they (presumably) close. They can’t say open for much longer. It’s definitely getting picked over. Lots of treasures still to be had though.
Andy bought Star Trek: The Motion Picture and so last night we watched that. It’s a new cut that’s actually better. Amazing. I’m usually totally against the George Lucas-ization of taking an existing film and “making it better,” but in this case it really worked. It makes more sense, doesn’t feel sluggish, and the new sfx are subtle and mesh very well with the original elements. And the new sound mix is the bee’s knees.
This morning I finished Volume III and started Volume IV. Over halfway done! Volume IV starts right off with gay sex. It’s like, finally, we get to the crux of the matter.
Others have said it better than I: with Democrats taking control of the House and Senate, Rumsfeld resigning, and a new David Lynch film on the way (finally!) I’ve felt like I’m in some kind of alternate universe. A nice one.
And I just found out that I’ll be taking part in the 2006 Renegade Craft Fair Holiday Sale! That’s December 9 + 10 in Pulaski Park Auditorium (1419 W. Blackhawk) from Noon – 5pm. I’m hoping I can unload another 30 copies of 100SP, thus clearing away more space in the office and making Andy happy.
Last night we watched La Dolce Vita and it was awesome. Neither of us had ever seen it. It’s spooky and depressing how prescient it was concerning the modern cult of celebrity. Beautifully filmed too. The whole thing looked like a very weird, elegant fashion spread. Easy to see why it won the Oscar for costume design.

Well I guess I’ll be at Daily Bar & Grill in Lincoln Square tonight to catch some election coverage. If I was just sitting home alone I think I’d go nuts.
