I have two perfect ideas for Chicagoist posts this week. Sad thing? I’m completely uninspired to work on either one at the moment. Guess I’ll slack off then, maybe make myself a cocktail.

Today I went to a newish lounge/bar/restaurant on Grand just off Michigan Avenue. It’s called Reagle Beagle. Yes, that is the correct spelling. The name is taken from “Three’s Company” and the entire inside is an immaculately designed homage to the 70’s and early 80’s. Framed glossy promo shots from various TV shows, poofy drapes and carpeted walls, sofas with throw pillows, the whole nine yards. As an aperitif I ordered the Brady Bunch Punch, which indeed tasted like something Alice or Carol would whip up if they were lushes. The food was great too, all comfort-style done with surprising flair. Will definitely be recommending it.

The upcoming week will bring a birthday party that I need to attend, a belated birthday dinner for me, and possibly some interesting films. I wish thatthe Chicago International Film Festival would get their act together so that I can apply for media accreditation.
