3 things about Jim Jarmusch’s THE LIMITS OF CONTROL

The Limits of Control [2009]

1. He opens the matchbox and removes a small slip of folded paper. He reads the encrypted message on it, then crumples it up and swallows it. This is repeated several times in the movie. Communion with his way of life?
2. She takes the espresso which is in front of her and trades it for the espresso which is in front of him. “Suspicion,” she says. “Hitchcock.”
3. He casually removes his toupee and places it on the skull atop his desk. Then he notices the stranger sitting in a chair on the other side of the room.
