3 things about John Boorman’s EXORCIST II: THE HERETIC

Exorcist II: The Heretic [1977]

1. The clinic: a beautiful set that makes no sense. A series of glass-walled rooms arranged in a honeycomb pattern.
2. From shaman to locust entomologist.
3. She turns, and all at once the street is filled with curious bystanders, ambulances, and policemen. Nice moment.

The double exposure stuff in the first hypnosis scene was creepy, but that’s about it. Remember: this is the guy who made Zardoz. Was hoping for good bad, but this was mostly just bad bad. What was with the disco penthouse apartment?
