Why can’t we live together? 16mm vs. DCP

I was thrilled and honored to be interviewed about my film by Julian Antos, a projectionist and fellow member of CINE-FILE. You can read all about the the various film stocks we used, what condition the elements were in after 20 years of being schlepped from place to place, and the realities of today’s theatrical exhibition choices.

There are only 12 days to go in the Kickstarter campaign. But the project is 62% funded; with your help, we can do this!

I got a guitar, and a piece of cellophane wrap.

Here’s a new clip from the film, a musical interlude featuring Scot P. Livingston (vocal, guitar), Tchavdar Georgiev (drums), and yours truly (piano).

“POTC Blues,” an excerpt from PAUSE OF THE CLOCK from Rob Christopher on Vimeo.

This was our only complete take, by the way. We couldn’t afford to use up any film that wasn’t strictly necessary. A bit of trivia: the sound was recorded in mono, live, using only two microphones! Kudos to Phil Jones for his fine work.

What do Jeffrey Brown and Andrew Bujalski have in common?

Jeffrey Brown is the author and illustrator of several best-selling books, including Darth Vader and Son and (one of my personal favorites) Funny Misshapen Body: A Memoir. He combines a goofy sense of humor with a drawing style that’s sincere and poignant. Andrew Bujalski is, in my view, one of the most inventive and engaging American filmmakers working today. Computer Chess was easily one of my favorite films of 2013. His newest film, Results, just played st Sundance and received glowing reviews.

So what do they have in common? Both just became backers of Pause of the Clock. With 14 days left to go, here’s where the campaign stands:

58 backers
$8,899 pledged of $15,000 goal

That’s 59% funded! With your help, we can get there. Every pledge counts! Don’t delay!

Do you have 30 seconds?

WordPess tells me there are more than 200 subscribers to this blog. Why, then. does Pause of the Clock only have 42 votes?! The film is in dead last place. Friends, Romans, Countrymen. Take 30 seconds. Do it. The cat videos and listicles demanding your time and attention will be still be here when you’re done, I promise. Help with distribution and a pathway to Tribeca are at stake!
